RECURRING TOPICS

  1. New Burger – Since the reopening of the restaurants in mid-May, Gordon Food Service, along with many other food suppliers, has struggled with the ability to obtain and provide meat products including steaks and burgers. While we saw price spikes and rebounds, we also began to research alternative options for our burgers.  In doing so, we discovered a fresh, half-pound, angus beef burger at a comparable price to our frozen patties.  Based on testing in multiple stores over the course of several weeks, we have decided to make a permanent change to this new burger.  You will see the change to the GFS order guide soon.
  2. Ask for Mask – As our government’s response to the Coronavirus and the general public’s attitude toward this outbreak continues to morph and change, we must adapt quickly as a company and adjust our policies to comply with guidelines and regulations as well as public sentiment. Most municipalities in which our restaurants are located have implemented a mask mandate in some form.  While it has been our intent up until now not to enforce this mandate, the public’s position on this has changed enough that we must now begin to ask our guests to comply with the mask order.  We have put signs on all doors indicating that masks are now ‘required’ and we are now asking our staff to request that guests wear masks in the restaurant when they are not sitting at their table.  As a way to prevent conflict and not lose valuable customers, we have provided a couple dozen disposable masks in all corporate restaurants at the hostess station to be handed to guests who may have forgotten their mask.  This additional cost to our operation is not negligible if these masks are not treated with care.  These are only to be used in circumstances when a guest wishes to dine with us but has forgotten to wear a mask.  While we do not wish to create conflicts with guests, we do wish to remind them of the state or county mandate so we do not upset guests dining with us who are in compliance.  Please contact Brandon or Tim for any necessary clarification.
  3. Continue sanitizing – Please don’t forget that we must continue to be vigilant during this time. Restaurants are operating under a figurative microscope.  Don’t become complacent.  Please continue all ongoing sanitation and risk mitigation factors that we have implemented since the reopening of our restaurants to include, but not limited to, face masks, temperature checks, sanitation stations, hand washing, hand sanitizing, and social distancing.
  4. Help Stop the Spread Protocol – Please read the attached document to ensure Scramblers compliance with how to handle a staff member who tests positive for the Coronavirus.   Help Stop the Spread Protocol
