NEW INFORMATION

  1. QR Code Menu – Please be aware, in spite of the immediate trend developed in the restaurant industry to switch to digital menus upon their re-opening, we have elected not to institute them in Scramblers. In mid-May many restaurants in the industry created QR Codes at tableside to allow guests to scan with their phone and read their menu digitally to avoid paper menus and the potential spread of the coronavirus through contact-surfaces.  We considered and debated this idea, but despite the ease of implementation, we believe that guests are far more inconvenienced by this practice than protected from the virus.  In our research and surveys, we discovered that guests want normalcy in their dining experience now more so than ever, and do not want to read their menu this way.  Therefore, while this practice does still occur in some restaurants, the reduced threat of contracting the virus through contact surfaces and our ability to sanitize our existing menus, has brought us to conclude that we will not be implementing the QR code menu in any of our Scramblers or City Egg restaurants.
  2. New Masks – New Scramblers masks are finally here! Order your masks in the Shop of the Coop or online directly at http://shopscramblers.com.

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. GFS Service Change – After a great deal of negotiations, requests and demands, Gordon has agreed to make a very large-scale and significant change to the way they service our Scramblers and City Egg restaurants. With the elimination of a single point of contact, a new system will be implemented which will include customer service specialists in multiple markets and direct personal interaction with store management.  Most of the details of this change-over will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.
  2. Bread – We have decided to make another change to our bread provider. After ongoing struggles with Orlando, we have committed to a switch to Alpha Baking Company which will now provide our white, wheat, rye and sourdough as a frozen product distributed through Gordon Food Service.  We are excited about the quality and price of this bread and look forward to seeing more consistency and attention to detail from their service.  The new bread is slated to be delivered starting late September.  Individual market exceptions may apply.  Please contact Brandon or Tim for more information.
  3. Fall LTO – We are currently in the final stages of development of the Fall LTO menu. Final details are being sent to the printer to begin production of these menus in the next week.  We expect menus, product preparation guides and videos to be available and in your restaurant by the beginning of September for a start date of Wednesday, September 16.  We will have three fall menu staples including the Autumn Harvest Combo (turkey on cranberry walnut bread and pumpkin bisque), the Game Day Skillet, and the Pumpkin Stuffed French Toast, as well as two new items including a homemade recipe buffalo-style chicken salad, and a southwest frittata.  Look for these items in a few weeks.
