NEW INFORMATION
- Easter – This year, Sunday, April 4th is Easter Sunday. Traditionally, this results in a slight dip in sales as most guests avoid breakfast assuming large crowds and long wait times. As a result, many restaurants are less busy and could accommodate more business. Therefore, if you have not already done so, immediately post your ‘We’re Open for Easter’ signs in the lobby of your restaurant. We can have new signs made up for stores that have lost theirs.
- Employee Referral Bonus System – Given the unique new challenges to the restaurant industry in a post-pandemic country and the unprecedented difficulty of hiring new employees in many of our restaurants, we have updated our Employee Referral Bonus Program in select locations. In some of our stores we are advertising a starting bonus to both new employee and referring employee with a few stipulations. Due to the applicability of this program in any given location, it’s full explanation on this update would be imprudent. However, if you are interested in more details, please contact Brandon or Tim about implementing it in your store.
- Large Carry-out Containers – As most of you know, GFS is currently out of our large carry-out container and ran out of the approved substituted container, and is now unable to stock the substitution to the substitution. In spite of our efforts, and with the full-knowledge of the current situation, GFS is no longer promising any reasonable timeframe in which we can expect to return to our normal container. We will keep stores updated as more information becomes available regarding this issue.
- Spring Break – Be advised, the next few weeks are expected Ohio-schools’ spring break weeks. This may exacerbate an already difficult situation in staffing the restaurants. Please do not let these weeks catch you off guard. Many young students will be requesting time off. Look at your schedules closely and plan accordingly to ensure your restaurant is fully staffed over the next couple of weeks.
RECURRING TOPICS
- ‘Bacon Flight’ – Please see the attached Product Preparation Guide for proper plate presentation and descriptions, as well as the standard operating procedure for bacon flights in carry-out form. Bacon Flight SOP
- Hormel Bacon – Be advised, we are aware that our new Hormel bacon has fewer bacon slices/ case than our original GFS label bacon. While this was taken into consideration when comparing costs and quality, it is still noteworthy when it comes to ordering. Please consider a possible slight increase in the number of cases you may need when ordering.
