NEW INFORMATION

1. Labor Day – Labor Day is this Monday, September 6. Please consider previous years’ sales and staff appropriately for a busy holiday weekend.
2. Fall LTO – This year’s Fall LTO Menu will be bringing back a few favorites as well as a couple new items. Expect to run the LTO in your restaurant beginning Wednesday, September 22.  This means you will have to order product from GFS no later than Wednesday, September 15 to ensure you have everything necessary to begin this menu.  All stores will receive menus, Product Preparation Guides with recipes, product descriptions, photos, preparation instructions, food cost analysis and all other necessary details to train your staff and be ready.  At that time, this menu will also be added to the Sizzle POS system and our online ordering.
3. Menu Price – We are currently developing a new menu price code “C” which will be available for restaurants who are prepared to take a menu price increase. Currently all Scramblers are operating on price codes “A” and “B”.  “C” is expected to be available by the end of September.

RECURRING TOPICS

1. GFS – As mentioned in previous updates, Gordon Food Service continues to struggle with its ability to fulfill orders. Even most recently indicating that it has stopped all express vans and item shipping to a local marketplace.  These problems exist industry-wide for them as many of their competitors have simply stopped providing goods to many of their customers.  Recognizing this, we have updated our method for approving substitution items that will apply to all locations throughout the system.  This will prevent customer development specialists from authorizing unapproved substitutions or bothering individual stores for answers.  We will continue to provide updates as necessary.
2. Bacon Flight – Please remember that we will be discontinuing the Bacon Flight as of this coming Tuesday, September 7. At this time, please remember to remove signs and table-tents.
