NEW INFORMATION

  1. Holiday Season – We are only a few short weeks away from our holiday season. Please look for your Holiday Hours signs and have them ready to place in your lobby.  Here is a brief list and synopsis on what sales volume to expect as it compares to normal sales so that you may staff appropriately. Consider this as a general reference, though it is always wise to look at your individual store sales’ trends for exceptions:
    1. Halloween (Oct 31) – No change
    2. Election Day (Nov 2) – Up 25%
    3. Daylight Saving Time Ends (Nov 7)- Up 25%
    4. Veterans Day (Nov 11) – Up 25%
    5. Day before Thanksgiving (Nov 24) – Up 20%
    6. Thanksgiving Day (Nov 25) – In many locations volume is the same as a normal Thursday, but we are only open from 8am-12pm, so you do the same volume in only 4 hours.  Makes for a busy rush, so be prepared
    7. Day after Thanksgiving (Nov 26) – Very busy.  Up 75-150% from a normal Friday.  Sometimes even busier than Saturday or Sunday of that weekend.
    8. Christmas: The week leading up to Christmas Day (whenever the kids get out of school; probably Dec 20 or 21 this year) begins to get busy.  Each weekday is 50-75% up on a normal weekday.  Christmas Eve often does the equivalent sales volume as a busy Saturday or soft Sunday.  We are closed Saturday, Christmas Day (only day of the year) and then December 26 will be a busy Sunday, 27th will be a busy Monday, and 28-31 will be the equivalent of Saturday-like sales.  We often set weekly sales records during this week.  No one-single day is like a ‘Mother’s-Day-kind-of-busy’, but each day is busier than normal, which makes for an over-all busy week.  You will want as much staff available throughout this week as possible.
    9. New Year’s Day (Saturday Jan 1) – Up 50% (i.e. more like Sunday sales). Other than Thanksgiving Day, this is the only day of the year that our hours change because we open late.  Hours are 8am-3pm.
    10. That following day will be normal strong Sunday.  Then business falls off on Monday, Jan 3.  At that point, cut staff and start cleaning!

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Marketing – Our online social media marketing campaign has begun in conjunction with our new partnership with the marketing firm ‘Fyve’. This campaign is designed to be a much more interactive and comprehensive conversation with our guests and potential clients.  This is a top-of-mind awareness campaign in the tradition of, but substitution for, television, radio or billboards.  Rather than exhaust our dollars and efforts toward promotions and coupons that discount the product, our new marketing initiative will be to develop a more engaging online presence.  If you have not already provided a representative from your restaurant to be a part of this campaign, we encourage you to do so.  The more participation we receive from our restaurant representatives, the more powerful and engaging our content can be.  If you have someone interested in online social media marketing that wants to be part of this process, please have them contact our marketing director at marketing.scramblersbrands.com.  Here they will be invited to participate in our weekly conference calls and calendar updates as we continue to ramp-up this campaign.
  2. LTO Promo – Be advised, in spite of our efforts to reduce our discounting, we would like to keep our e-club engaged and promote our Fall LTO Menu; therefore, we will be offering a $2 off any Fall LTO Menu item directly to our e-club as well as making this promotion available on the Scramblers App.
