- Mother’s Day – Congratulations to all for a very successful Mother’s Day this year and to all those that set new same-store sales records or significant volume increases on years’ past; and a special congratulations to the Broad Street location on a new All-Time single store, single day sales record of $11,185 and to the Pickerington location with a new All-Time single store weekly sales record of $32,582! Impressive work and a job well done.
- Marie-Club – Be advised, next week we will run our second coupon promotion sent out to our e-club for $2 off any LTO item. The email blast will go out on Monday, May 16, and will be valid Monday thru Friday of next week. This coupon can be redeemed digitally or in hard-copy form.

- Potatoes – We received frustrating news last week from our current potato supplier, McCain’s. A year ago we negotiated a contracted price with McCain’s to supply us potato chunks, hash browns, and fries with a set price for the next 18 months. Our price was so low that McCain’s began to struggle with our account when the potato industry prices began climbing. They have since climbed to unsustainable levels. Therefore, this past week, McCain’s decided to make the unprecedented decision to dissolve our contract prices with them, mid-contract, as well as most of its other clients, and bear the cost of litigation as a cost of doing business. While this has never happened before, it comes at a time when our food costs are continuing to climb and our potato pricing has a direct impact on our bottom line. They have decided to increase our potato price by $0.24/ pound. This is substantial, so we have begun the process of looking for an alternative. We have decided to change over to our current Michael’s fresh hash brown product that we use as an alternate, and we are still looking into options for a potato and fries alternative. This fresh product is a substantial savings for us, but will come with operational adjustments to ensure a good quality product when it reaches the guest. Expect the price increase on potato chunks, hash browns and fries from McCain’s to occur within the next week. Expect the change-over to the new Michael’s hash browns in approximately four weeks. We will keep all operators informed as we know more about this evolving situation.
