NEW INFORMATION

  1. New Menu – Our new menu goes live next Wednesday, April 1. Your digital cookbook and kitchen screens have all been updated with all the changes to the menu.  Attached is our Product Prep Guide for the ‘Newest Creations’ category of the menu as well as additional instructional videos below.  Please review and train your staff so everyone is ready!
  2. Social Media – Our April social media calendar is here! See the link below to find out more about our on-line marketing campaign.  As always, if you are interested in being featured in our social media, please contact Kelly directly!   April Social Media Calendar
  3. Delivery Services – Be advised, beginning Wednesday, April 1 our BOGO offer through Uber Eats is changing from an Uncle Moose, to a Big Country. This is expected to affect the number of Big Country’s you sell.  Be prepared!
  4. Table Tents – We have decided to change our company standard table tent system-wide. We tested a new table tent in the Toledo market for the past few months and have decided to roll these new table-tents out to all Scramblers Restaurants.  This means you will be receiving a new table-tent in the mail in the coming weeks.  These tents are permanent fixtures.  The are made of wood and look like a miniature pull-up bar, on which 5-6 clear plastic sleeves hang from the ‘bar’ using rings.  This allows us to insert a wide variety of advertisements on our tables without increasing the ‘real-estate’ on the table itself, while also establishing a very consistent and professional look throughout all locations.  All stores are expected to receive the clear plastic sleeves, rings and the wooden table-tents in separate shipments next week. The advertising inserts will arrive shortly after as well.

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Labor Forecaster – If you are not already utilizing the newly designed Labor Forecaster in Sizzle, you should be! If used properly, this tool could completely revolutionize the way you do your schedule and control your labor costs.  We have taken a great deal of feedback from our management and made even more improvements to the system!  Be prepared, this tool will soon be a requirement for all corporate restaurant schedules.
  2. Easter – Be advised, Easter Sunday is April 5. Please look at your restaurant’s sales from last year to prepare for the appropriate level of staff.
  3. ServSafe – Be advised, all Scramblers and City Egg restaurants are required to follow the regulations of their local county health department. One such requirement in most counties is the presence of at least one individual in the restaurant at all times who is currently ServSafe certified at a minimum Level 1 status.  General Managers are required to be at least Level 2 ServSafe certified.  Therefore, if your restaurant does not currently meet these requirements, it is imperative that this be handled immediately.  In order to achieve ServSafe certification, individuals must take an online class and receive a certificate.  These certificates must be present in the restaurant and available to county health inspectors at the time of inspection.  Attached is information on how to get certified.  You are required to do this on your own time, but corporate restaurants will be reimbursed for the cost of the certification class.  If you have questions about getting certified or reimbursed, please speak to your direct supervisor.   ServSafe Class Information
  4. New Scramblers – Congratulations to Joe Pedalino on the opening of the newest addition to the Scramblers family! Joe opened his second Scramblers Restaurant on Thursday, March 19 in Beavercreek, Ohio!  We are very excited about this location in a premier shopping district of Dayton called The Greene.  We are very happy for Joe and his team, and look forward to a tremendous amount of success in a beautiful Scramblers restaurant.
  5. Cup Lids – We have a new carry-out cup lid! The new lid is designed for our plastic logo cups and makes all of our new iced-coffee drinks easier for our guests.  This lid will replace the current plastic X-slot lid as it is more universal to all of our cold beverages.
  6. Uber Eats – Be advised, Uber Eats has announced a nationwide increase in the percentage they take on all orders. They are going from 22% to 25% on our orders.  This is extremely frustrating as it comes with no new features or incentives.  Their rationale, to keep up with costs, is not reflective of how percentages work, but is their reasoning regardless.  As a result, we have increased the Uber Eats markup to keep pace with this.  This results in the pricing on DoorDash and Grub Hub to now be lower than Uber Eats.  This is noteworthy so our staff can address this with our guests if they raise concerns with the new pricing structure.  Likewise, it may guide more guests to our other delivery services if they wish to avoid this arbitrary mark-up.
