NEW INFORMATION

  1. Fall LTO Menu – Please be advised, now that we have begun the new Scramblers Menu this week, we now have two items that are on both the Full Menu and the Fall LTO Menu.  Unfortunately, this overlap creates an issue with pricing.  Both the Southwest Frittata and the Stuffed French Toast show different prices on both menus.  Therefore, we must honor the lower price (from the LTO) for the next week or until it can be pulled.  The original date for the end of the LTO was December 24; however, it can be pulled earlier if possible.  The only reason to continue to run the Fall LTO is to avoid loss of product that may have been ordered to get through the next week.  Do not throw food away.  Instead, continue the LTO until you’ve either exhausted the food or until Thursday, December 24, whichever comes first.  Important! Once you’ve pulled the LTO, the prices in the Dinerware POS system for these two items must be manually updated to reflect the permanent menu price.
  2. Potatoes – Contract pricing for our potatoes ended at the beginning of November.  We’ve spent the past several weeks negotiating with both McCain’s and Lamb Wesstin to get the best possible contract price for our potatoes, hash browns, and French fries.  We are pleased to report that McCain’s is now manufacturing the original hash brown that we used to purchase from them until they discontinued it a few year’s back, prompting our switch to Lamb Wesstin.  After all negotiating has been completed, we are thrilled to announce that we will be switching back to McCain’s for all three products at a significantly reduced price for all three items.
  3. Upcoming Holiday – Be prepared to staff your store appropriate for the upcoming holidays.  Most schools are out all next week; Christmas Eve is on Thursday, and Christmas Day on Friday!
  4. New Menus – Important update to the Scramblers Official Menu Guide in the Operations Manual – see below.

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Gift Card Promotion –Attached is a copy of the SOP for this promotion as well as the tracking spreadsheet for this season’s sales as they compare to last year. Please encourage your staff to sell gift cards.  This will be a critical promotion designed to contribute to the stability of our company in a very trying and difficult gift card selling season.  It is now more important than ever to sell gift cards to our guests who wish to support local businesses and restaurants.  Please use the tracker to encourage your staff to beat last year’s gift card sales!

OPERATIONS MANUAL CHANGES

  1. Scramblers Official Menu Guide – In conjunction with a new menu roll-out, several changes were made to the Scramblers Official Menu Guide in the Operations Manual.  This Guide (which includes the Cook Book, Prep Book, and Recipe Book) was published last Spring as a user-friendly, hard-copy manual for all restaurants.  With the development of a new menu, it is already out-dated.  Therefore, if you were able to provide us your hard-copy book, we will complete the update for you and return it to your store as quickly as possible.  If you did not, the updated Scramblers Official Menu Guide is now available in the Library of The Coop under the Operations Manual folder called ‘Food Preparation’.  Be advised, several changes were made that need to be noted in order to execute the new menu properly.   Gift Card Tracker
