Our mission is to delight every guest of Scramblers by impressing them with unique breakfast and lunch recipes and attentive friendly service in a clean, dynamic yet comfortable environment.
**** New COVID-19 Protocols – Be Advised, due to new guidance issued by the CDC and the adaptation of that guidance into new policies by the Ohio and Michigan governors, Scramblers is updating its protocol for masking and social distancing. Starting immediately, Scramblers will no longer require guests to wear masks or facial coverings in our restaurants. Please remove ‘mandatory mask’ signs from your windows. Guests may utilize their own discretion regarding their own personal level of protection. Some will continue to wear masks while others do not. We will not enforce mask wearing as it is no longer mandated by State governance. In Ohio, all social distancing restrictions are to be lifted on June 2. This means that our restaurants can remove ‘reserved seating’ signs and put their dining room back into original configurations. Obstructive plexiglass can be removed, or in some cases, remain if guests prefer. Dining rooms can return to full capacity. On June 2 we will also reassess the current mask policy for our staff. Until then, staff will continue to wear masks. Staff should continue to wear masks until further notice. Please consider, while these changes are subject to local health department guidelines and regulations in a store by store case, corporate policy will be to longer require guests to wear masks. ****
NEW INFORMATION
- New Records – Congratulations to all of our Scramblers locations for a record setting Mother’s Day! We very much appreciate the hard-work and dedication of our staff on a very successful day. We are also excited to congratulate our Sancus Blvd location on a new all-time single day sales record of $10,693! Many stores had their own individual single day sales records as well. Great job to all.
- New Uniforms! – A reminder, Friday, May 28, 2021 all Scramblers employees are expected to be in the new Scramblers Uniform. Posters have been sent to all locations to show you what to prepare for. New uniforms include blue-jeans and T-shirts for all staff-level positions including front and back of house! Only Supervisors and General Managers will remain in black polo shirts and black pants. Please note two minor discrepancies on the poster board: First, under the “Pants” category, the sub-header reads “All Team Members” but should read “Front of House” as jeans are not a requirement for cooks or dishwashers, and in addition, while it does not indicate it, jeans may not have holes in them. The Shop in The Coop is now open and available for additional new uniform purchases. Also, please note the changes regarding uniforms to the Operations Manual below.
RECURRING TOPICS
- New China – Unfortunately, World Tableware has discontinued our china. They have stopped manufacturing it in its entirety with no reasonable substitution to take its place. Therefore, we are in the process of selecting a completely new china pattern. The change-over to a new china is a long and arduous process, but must be done with the benefit of freshening up and modernizing our look. More information will come in the next few weeks as we finalize the R/D process.
- Table Condiments – After utilizing Columbus as a test market for placing all condiments back on tables for the past six weeks and receiving no pushback from guests, we have decided to do so in all markets. If you have not already done so, you are authorized to place all condiments back on tables. With CDC guidelines and new information about the virus changing daily, we know that contact surfaces are not contributing to the virus spread. At a time when our servers need as little adversity in their jobs as possible, we have agreed that putting our condiments back on tables is both safe and constructive at this time.
OPERATIONS MANUAL CHANGES
- Uniform Guidelines – All of the individual staff level position manuals have been updated eliminating the ‘Uniform’ section at the back of these manuals. Rather, because all staff level uniforms are comparable, this section has been eliminated from staff level position manuals and added to the Scramblers/ City Egg Employee Handbook. In the new version of the handbook that all staff members read and sign prior to employment, they will find the poster board graphic of the uniform requirements, as well as a list of additional regulations as part of their uniform including hair, makeup, nail polish, ear and nose rings, tattoos, and name tag requirements. Please make note of these changes as they apply to all Scramblers employees.
