Operations Update

Our mission is to delight every guest of Scramblers by impressing them with unique breakfast and lunch recipes and attentive friendly service in a clean, dynamic yet comfortable environment.

NEW INFORMATION

  1. Inventory Tools – You may have already noticed, we have added a new tool on the Accounting Portal for the sake of increasing managers accuracy when posting bills.  As a general rule, if you post your invoices (identify your purchases in inventory) it is critical to adjust pricing to adequately reflect the actual dollar amount that the store paid for any given product.  However, if you do not run a report to ensure that all of your invoice posting does, in fact, add up to the correct amount of your total invoices, your food cost numbers will be inaccurate.  We have simply created a quick and easy reference tool to allow you to double-check your own work in the bill posting process of developing an accurate food cost.  If you have specific questions about this, please contact Tim directly or our corporate offices.

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Tea – We have made a change to a new Iced Tea supplier.  GFS will no longer provide us Lipton Iced Tea; rather, Caruso Coffee is our new iced tea supplier.  We are excited about the superiority of the product having tested in multiple locations.  Please order your tea products through Caruso Coffee now as the Lipton product has been removed from the GFS order guide.  This change does not affect hot tea.  One item to make note of; the iced tea from Caruso Coffee is provided in individual packets much like Lipton, but not in individual sealed filters.  The tea should be poured into a coffee filter first and then brewed as normal.

OPERATIONS MANUAL CHANGES

Interested in a uniform change?

At Scramblers we understand that as times change, so do fashion trends.  We have decided to consider a company and system-wide policy change for our uniforms from khaki pants to black slacks.

However, these types of changes don’t come without a few growing-pains and in some cases, are far more difficult and complicated than they appear at the surface.  Therefore, while we pride ourselves in our ability to receive feedback from our staff and make positive changes to our company making us one of ‘Toledo’s Top Places to Work 2018’, we know that we cannot please everyone with every decision we make.  So, we’ve decided to find out just how fervent the request for black slacks actually is . . .

Survey Time!  If you want to be heard, here’s your opportunity!  The link below will allow you to vote on khaki or black.  A link will also be texted to your manager’s cell phone next week, which can be forwarded on to yours.  A few things to consider when casting your ballot:

  • Black slacks would apply to all front-of-house staff (servers, bussers, hostesses)
  • Staff would be required to purchase their own uniform pants.  Specific brands or retailors will not be required or provided
  • Slacks must be of professional working style
  • Slacks must have belt loops, be of appropriate length and have ‘sewn-in pockets’
  • No jeans
  • No yoga or stretch pants
  • No capris

Thanks to all who wish to participate.  Your feedback helps our company grow!
