NEW INFORMATION

  1. Gift Card Promotion – Be advised, our annual ‘Buy $50, Get $10’ Gift Card Sales Promotion begins next Wednesday, November 17. All stores should have received a package containing all necessary promotional material including signs, gift cards, sleeves, buttons, certificates and a hard-copy SOP.  Prepare your staff for a great gift card selling season!
  2. Substitutions – Be advised, we are making a minor policy change to our allowable substitutions list regarding sides. Next week staff will see this update on the Sizzle system.
  3. Now Hiring – Be advised, we are sending a clear QR Code sticker to all Scramblers locations with instructions. This will be placed on the bottom left corner of your ‘Now Hiring’ sign to be used as a simple link directly to our Scramblers Application page.  Look for it next week!

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Holiday Hours Signs – If you have not already done so, please post your Holiday Hours signs in your lobby now! This will help spread the word and increase your Thanksgiving sales.
  2. Holiday Season – We are only a few short weeks away from our holiday season. Here is a brief list and synopsis on what sales volume to expect as it compares to normal sales so that you may staff appropriately. Consider this as a general reference, though it is always wise to look at your individual store sales’ trends for exceptions:
    1. Day before Thanksgiving (Nov 24) – Up 20%
    2. Thanksgiving Day (Nov 25) – In many locations volume is the same as a normal Thursday, but we are only open from 8am-12pm, so you do the same volume in only 4 hours.  Makes for a busy rush, so be prepared
    3. Day after Thanksgiving (Nov 26) – Very busy.  Up 75-150% from a normal Friday.  Sometimes even busier than Saturday or Sunday of that weekend.
    4. Christmas: The week leading up to Christmas Day (whenever the kids get out of school; probably Dec 20 or 21 this year) begins to get busy.  Each weekday is 50-75% up on a normal weekday.  Christmas Eve often does the equivalent sales volume as a busy Saturday or soft Sunday.  We are closed Saturday, Christmas Day (only day of the year) and then December 26 will be a busy Sunday, 27th will be a busy Monday, and 28-31 will be the equivalent of Saturday-like sales.  We often set weekly sales records during this week.  No one-single day is like a ‘Mother’s-Day-kind-of-busy’, but each day is busier than normal, which makes for an over-all busy week.  You will want as much staff available throughout this week as possible.
    5. New Year’s Day (Saturday Jan 1) – Up 50% (i.e. more like Sunday sales). Other than Thanksgiving Day, this is the only day of the year that our hours change because we open late.  Hours are 8am-3pm.
    6. That following day will be normal strong Sunday.  Then business falls off on Monday, Jan 3.  At that point, cut staff and start cleaning!
