NEW INFORMATION

  1. Spring/Summer LTO – Our Seasonal Limited Time Offering (LTO) menu is coming! This year’s menu has four entrees and one drink.  Attached is the Product Preparation Guide.  Please begin to review it.  A hard copy of this guide will be sent to all stores next week, with the menus to arrive in stores by April 1.  You will be expected to place your first order for the necessary products from GFS on Wednesday, April 6 for a menu start date of Wednesday, April 13.   Spring/ Summer LTO Product Prep Guide
  2. Social Media Marketing – It’s March Madness Baby! Next week we will run a Scramblers Final Four contest on all of our social media platforms. Subscribers and followers will vote for their favorite Scramblers entrée in a head-to-head final four style matchup.  The final vote will conclude and winning entrée crowned on Friday, April 1.  At that time, the winning entrée will be discounted to half off!  Guests will simply show the contest winner to their server on their mobile device to receive the discount!
  3. Sizzle – Wednesday, March 23 Updates to Sizzle as published in the ‘Group-Me’ app:
    1. You are now able to split individual items between multiple seats. This will be found right below the Discount Items button.  It should be fairly straightforward how it works.  But if you have questions feel free to reach out to Philip about them.
    2. From the Cook Screen, when you click on a check you will now see a ‘Cook Book’ button. If you click this, it will allow you to see each item on the check with the description as it appears on the menu, a picture of how the item should be sold, as well as all of the ingredients that go in it.  The current pictures are still on the old china as that is what most stores have.  As more stores switch to the new china, these pictures will update as well.
    3. On the Kitchen Statistics report you will now see an option to change from ticket times for the entire day, or ‘Crunch Time’ ticket times (9:000am – 1:00pm) to help see how your store is performing while at its busiest.
    4. We added in a ‘Notes’ section on each employee’s page. (Manage Store > Manage Users > Click on user’s name).  This should be used to help to keep track of things related to the employee such as shifts they call off for/show up late to/ exceptionally good things they do. It should help you increase your official documentation around employees.

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Management Training – Save the date! We will conduct our annual Scramblers system-wide manager training session at the Drury Inn & Suites in Findlay, Ohio on Tuesday, April 12, 9am-3:30pm.  All Scramblers General Managers and Restaurant Supervisors are welcome and encouraged to attend.  If you have not yet contacted Peggy at our corporate offices to RSVP, please do so.
  2. Coffee Stands – If you have not yet done so, please immediately begin utilizing your ‘free sips’ coffee sample station in the lobby of the restaurant in the same manner it was used prior to Covid.
  3. Cups – Please do not order Scramblers brand carry-out cups from GFS at this time. We will inform all Scramblers restaurants in this update as soon as GFS tells us that they are available again.
  4. Potato Prices – Be advised, while we are still under contract with McCain’s for our potatoes and hash browns, you will see some cost increases based solely on additional freight costs.
  5. Employee Compensation Guide – Reminder, attached you will find the updated recommended compensation schedule for our staff-level positions. This guide has also been published on your Sizzle System.    Employee Compensation Guide
  6. New china – Reminder, attached is a link to the new Menu Kitchen Guide with full color photos of all proper plate presentations for restaurants that have the new china. This has also been updated in our Scramblers Operations Manual and published in The Coop.  When your store receives the new china, carefully study this new guide in order to be compliant with the new Scramblers plate presentation standards.
  7. Couponing – Be advised, at this time we are reverting all of our original couponing policies to our pre-Covid standards. Managers are able to make exceptions when necessary; however, when in doubt, defer to whatever the verbiage is on the coupon.  This includes redemption guidelines and expiration dates on coupons such as $10 certificates, Free meal coupons, free coffee cards, free French toast certificates, Birthday club meals, senior cards, punch cards and more.
  8. Online Ordering Plasticware – Reminder, our online ordering platform now allows guests to select the option to not receive plasticware with their order. Plasticware should continue to be supplied with all orders unless it very specifically indicates that the guest does not need it.
