NEW INFORMATION

1. Birthday Free Meal Coupon – You may already be aware that in an unexpected technical glitch with Mailchimp, the company that we use for our Marie-Club subscribers, several thousand birthdays were lost.  Upon realizing this, we sent out an email to all of those subscribers requesting that they re-enter their birthdate for us so that we may be able to continue to send our ‘Free Meal on Your Birthday’ coupon.  Please recognize that due to the lag in information flow, there will be many individuals who legitimately have not received a birthday coupon from us or who’s birthday coupon was missed. These individuals may or may not present a valid “Sorry we missed your birthday” coupon.  Please make sure that your staff is fully aware of this situation and ready to be as flexible as possible with guests trying to get their birthday free meal.  The easy fall-back solution as always is to verify their birthday with a photo ID and ask them to update their birthdate in the e-club.  ‘Update your Birthday’ e-mail  ‘Sorry we missed your birthday’ email
2. The Shop – Announcing a new policy change! Be advised: The Shop is now open in The Coop!
   1. To all Franchise License Holders, this means that you must now order and purchase all of your uniforms, marketing material, and professional apparel in The Shop.
   2. To All General Managers, this means that you should direct your staff to order and purchase uniforms on-line.
   3. To Corporate GMs, this means you should ONLY coordinate first-time uniform and black shirts through Aaron Young and Shawn McCurdy.
3. GFS Order Guide – We have made a slight update to the GFS order guide for paper goods.  Based on ordering preferences, we have re-located paper towels and a few other items to the ‘Alternate’ section of the order guide.
4. LTO e-club Coupon – As some have noted, an error was made on the expiration date of the ‘$2 off any LTO menu item’ coupon extending its validity all the way to November 15.  Due to the nature of the e-club email system, we cannot recall this coupon and your staff should therefore be prepared to honor it, though we recognize and expect that it will be used most frequently within the first few weeks of its delivery.

RECURRING TOPICS

1. Cold Brew – A word to the serving staff.  If you have not yet tasted cold-brew coffee please understand what the product is so that you may educate guests.  Guests must know that this is not ‘iced coffee’.  Cold-Brew is a very different process and a very different product.  Most stores still have iced coffee available, but guests should understand what they’re ordering before being surprised with a very unexpected product.
2. LTO Menu Error – We have identified one inconsistency between the LTO menus that you received last week and the Product Preparation Guide.  The menu does not indicate Swiss cheese on the Ultimate Grilled Bacon and Cheese sandwich though the recipe calls for it.  Because of this, we must comply with the menu as it is what the guest will read and expect.  Therefore, contrary to the recipe and training video, we will NOT put Swiss cheese on the Ultimate Grilled Bacon and Cheese sandwich.

OPERATIONS MANUAL CHANGES

1. Employee Manuals – All of the Employee Manuals have been updated to reflect the current uniform requirements for all staff positions. These updates have not yet been published, but are expected to be available in the Library by mid-next week.  When they are, please download and print the new manuals in order to update your Operations Manual and educate your staff to ensure everyone understands these requirements.
