NEW INFORMATION
- Fall Menu – As previously mentioned, we are currently developing the Fall LTO Menu, and are very excited about some new flavors this year! This menu has a ‘go-live’ date of Wednesday, September 11. It will have five new entrées and one cocktail (for available restaurants). Rather than pumpkin stuffed French toast, we will have Pumpkin Pancakes as one of these items. These will be our traditional recipe pumpkin with two slight variations; icing, and pepitas! These will be treated like a garnish. They are de-shelled, salted, roasted pumpkin seeds. Unlike other new skews, these will be force-shipped directly to you in a 5lb bag. Expect them to arrive in your restaurant in the next ten days or so. Hold onto them as they will be needed for our new Fall LTO Menu!
- Quarterly Operations Call – Reminder! Our upcoming GM quarterly ops conference call is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21 at 3:00 pm. All Scramblers managers should attend, as we will cover important upcoming information regarding our restaurant operations. Corporate restaurant GMs are required to be on video for this call. All others are strongly encouraged.

- Logo Cups – As many of you know, we have made a change to our carry-out logo cups in order to meet the demands of the general public, keep up with better methods of branding, and of course save money wherever possible. We have eliminated the styrophoam cup and replaced it with two, much better cups for carry-out. These are logoed paper cups (with logoed sleeves) for hot beverages, and logoed clear plastic cups for cold. These new items match our City Egg concept and enhance our image to our guests. The only catch is that we add a couple new skews to our inventory. While this may take a little more space on your shelves, in truth it should be a money-saver, as the total quantity of cups used will be the same, and each has a better overall cost. We are excited that many stores are starting to receive these cups now. Keep in mind, you will need to order the paper cups, the sleeves, and the new lids that fit them. Also, be advised, the plastic cup (with its corresponding X-slot lid) is not yet available but will be in a few weeks. The new skews are listed below:

- ValPak – Be advised, our Summer Splash Cash promotion hit households via ValPak last week. Prepare your staff to redeem these coupons in accordance with the Splash Cash SOP.
- Menu – Reminder, one of the changes to the all-day menu which is expected to roll-out in mid-October, is a new category called ‘For the Table’ where we will highlight ‘Shareables’ including our Pancake Tacos, Scramblers Poutine and Premium Candied Bacon. Most importantly, the fourth item in this category is a Biscuit Flight that will require our new fresh-baked biscuits. It is critical that all locations have an operating oven to purchase and bake our new biscuits. When the new menu arrives, you will no longer be able to purchase pre-baked biscuits! Expect this new menu in early fall. Now is the time to make sure your equipment is prepared for these biscuits.
- Promotion Notes – As we enter the fourth weekend of our Summer Splash Cash promotion a very important note needs to be considered for all staff members. The SOP of the promotion makes very clear that this card is to be handed out to guests AFTER they’ve paid their bill, in order to make redemption of the first offer ($3 off) eligible for their NEXT visit. This is important because if the server provides the guest their card BEFORE they’ve paid their bill, they will assume it would make it applicable on their current visit and cause confusion and frustration from the guest’s perspective. MOST IMPORTANTLY, however, are the notable exceptions to this rule. Guests who visit SPECIFICALLY because they are anticipating their first ($3 off) redemption because they were brought in by external advertising, fall under this exceptions category. This means, if a guest brings in their ValPak coupon, shows their server the promotion on their App, makes a point to mention that our social media advertising brought them in, or other externalities, that guest SHOULD receive their first $3 off stamp along with their card. Please train your staff to never forget the purpose of this promotion! We want to bring the guests in, bring them back, and impress them while they’re with us! The intent is for Scramblers and City Egg visits to be habit forming. Please do not anger or frustrate guests who do not understand all of the rules and regulations of our promotion. Losing guests due to the ‘small print’ is a terrible idea! When in doubt, teach your staff to make sure the guests leave with full stomachs and smiles on their faces! If done right, they will return in the future and tell all of their friends about us!
