Our mission is to delight every guest of Scramblers by impressing them with unique breakfast and lunch recipes and attentive friendly service in a clean, dynamic yet comfortable environment.
NEW INFORMATION
- Hot Chocolate – Please be advised, Caruso’s Coffee has informed us that, while servicing some of their hot chocolate machines, they have observed that some of our Scramblers locations are currently using their hot chocolate machine, but not purchasing their hot chocolate. While their hot chocolate is more expensive, it is a superior product and should be purchased through Gordon’s. Caruso’s has informed us that if these locations wish to continue to purchase the cheaper, GFS brand hot chocolate, they will collect up their machine. We advise against this. These machines are paid for and serviced by Caruso’s for our convenience and operational efficiency. Please purchase the correct hot chocolate on your Gordon’s order guide. Thank you.
RECURRING TOPICS
- Holiday Décor – Time to decorate for the holiday season! As in years past we encourage all stores to decorate for the Christmas and winter holiday season. Please remember the original guidelines for holiday decorations as we wish to ensure that our decorations are in good taste and display an appropriate level of tact. Below is a reminder of a few of the guidelines:
-
- Please do not gift-wrap wall art
- No cling-ons, ‘snow’ sprays, or markers on windows
- Please no multi-colored lights or multi-colored garland
- Recommended for use: green garland, white lights, poinsettias, ‘gold snow flakes’, and tree ornaments or bulbs
- Holiday Season – The Holiday Season is upon us! Here is a brief list and synopsis on what sales volume to expect as it compares to normal sales so that you may staff appropriately. Consider this as a general reference though; it is always wise to look at your individual store sales’ trends for exceptions:
- First three weeks of December sales volumes begin to dip. Don’t over-staff!
- Christmas: The week leading up to Christmas Day (whenever the kids get out of school; probably Dec 18 or 19 this year) begins to get busy. Each weekday is 50-75% up on a normal weekday. Christmas Eve will be on Wednesday, Dec 24 and will feel like a busy Saturday. We are closed Thursday, Dec 25 Christmas Day (only day of the year) and then Friday, December 26 will be like a busy Sunday, and the 27th – 31st will be the equivalent of Saturday-like sales. We often set weekly sales records during this week. No one-single day is like a ‘Mother’s-Day-kind-of-busy’, but each day is busier than normal, which makes for an over-all busy week. You will want as much staff available throughout this week as possible.
- New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, Dec 31) – Expect busy Saturday-like sales.
- New Year’s Day (Thursday, Jan 1) –Other than Thanksgiving Day, this is the only day of the year that our hours change because we open late. Hours are 8am-3pm. Consider this day like a busy Saturday. Business will start slow, but a strong late morning and lunch rush should be expected.
- Business will then stay strong through the balance of the weekend and then fall off on Monday, Jan 5. At that point, cut staff and start cleaning!
- Gift Card Promotion – Time to sell gift cards! The ‘Buy $50, Get $10’ promotion that we run every year is well underway. Attached is our Promotional Alert. Please motivate your staff to sell, as this is a great way to bring guests back in after the new year during the slower months, which directly helps your servers! Also, below we have posted our Gift Card Tracker which shows individual stores’ sales as they compare to each other and last year’s numbers. This will be updated weekly.
