RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Cold Temps – Be advised! The coldest temperatures of the year are upon us.  Our current forecast through the balance of the weekend is calling for heavy snow and cold temperatures that are expected to effect the vast majority of the Scramblers and City Egg locations throughout the mid-west.  While this will adversely impact business, it is also critical to consider how the temperature may effect your facility.  The primary concern is freezing pipes.  It has been several years since we’ve dealt with temperatures this low, so a quick reminder of best practices to avoid potential facility damages:
  2. Consider turning down the temperature slightly in your dining room through the night rather than turning it off.
  3. Leave water faucets on at a trickle (moving water won’t freeze)
  4. Look for cold gaps around water lines. Pipes are more likely to freeze where air is moving around exterior walls.
  5. Insulate questionable pipes with black pipe insulation, heat tape, or pink fiberglass insulation.
  6. Have a hair dryer on standby for a quick fix if a pipe freezes!
