Operations Update

NEW INFORMATION

  1. Logo Cups – An update on our new logo cup: Gordon’s currently has 49 cases in stock of our old logo cup. Once those have been used, they will begin sending our new carry-out cups.  All stores should be using these for all guests for both ‘to-go’ cups and carryout sales.
  2. Spring/ Summer LTO – As often occurs, some questions have arisen regarding the new menu roll-out from this past week. The following will hopefully clear-up some confusion:
    1. Hot honey lemonade: YES to refills (not on alcohol one of course).
    2. Fritter Sandwich: please warm the fritter after cut as you would a burger bun.
    3. Fritter French Toast: these are not easy to grill with the nooks and crannies; please smash or even place a light weight on to get an even cook if necessary. Also, this item is not bottomless, but as always, make our guests happy.  Best way is to offer to make another half order at no charge if a guest complains.
    4. The chicken salad recipe should read:

24 oz – Brickman’s chicken salad

2 oz – Chopped dill pickles

1 ea – Chopped hard-boiled egg

1 oz – Pickle Juice

*Please make note of the portion size.  If you make 24 oz at a time, use this recipe.  If you make an entire bag, multiply these ingredients in proportion*

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Marketing – As mentioned last week, all stores have now been mailed the marketing material in the form of quarter-sheets to be placed in all carryout orders (Delivery and Online). These are to encourage guests to ‘follow-us’ on social media platforms and be aware of franchising opportunities.  Please inform your staff to place one in the bags of all carryout orders.
  2. Uber Eats – We are running a new promotion with Uber Eats. ‘Spend $35, Get $5 off’.  Please note that $1.50 of this promo is being paid for by Uber Eats making the cost to us $3.50.  Therefore, the discount button in Sizzle will allow only $3.50 off for accounting purposes.  Please ensure your staff understands this, as the Uber Eats tablet will indicate $5 off.
  3. Mother’s Day – This year Mother’s Day is one month away on Sunday, May 12! Now is a good time to look at your schedules and staffing and begin to plan for our busiest day of the year!
  4. Professionalism – We have taken note of a trend that has begun of staff wearing cordless ear buds while at work. While this practice is acceptable in a limited capacity in the back-of-house operations, it is completely unacceptable for any staff at any time in the front-of-house.  This is a very obvious violation of Scramblers standards regarding professionalism.  Do not let your staff do this!  At times this can be acceptable for cooks or dishwashers as long as only one ear bud is being used and one ear is free and clear to hear throughout his or her workspace.  Never both ears and absolutely NEVER in the dining room.
  5. Spring LTO – Be advised, our new Spring LTO menu is complete and has been mailed to all locations to be ready for a start date of Wednesday, April 17. Attached is a digital version of the Product Preparation Guide and the menu itself so you may continue to prepare.  A hard-copy of this guide was shipped with the menus.  We will be rolling out a new LTO menu for our City Egg locations very soon as well.
