Operations Update

NEW INFORMATION

  1. Daylight Saving Time Change – As you’re writing your schedules for next weekend, don’t forget, daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 5.  Be sure to remind your staff to roll back their clocks on Saturday night, and be prepared for an uptick in sales on Sunday morning as stores get busier earlier than usual in the morning.

RECURRING TOPICS

  1. Avocado Spread – We have identified a product that we can use on our Avocado Toast LTO entrée that will be a significant cost savings to operators without compromising the integrity of our menu item.  Smashed avocado spread has been added to the GFS order guide to be available for purchase at a far reduced cost as compared to avocado halves.  This product has chunks of avocados in and works great for avocado toast.  The only operational concern is waste, as avocados brown very quickly.  You are permitted to order this item and use it for that application.  Just be prepared to work hard to reduce its waste.
  2. Veterans day – Be prepared, we will be offering a free entrée to all United States Military Veterans on Saturday, November 11.  We intend to advertise this discount to our guests via the e-club, and we will honor this discount on Saturday only.  Additional details will follow.

OPERATIONS MANUAL CHANGES

  1. Scramblers Library – When launched next month, The Coop will have a direct link to Scramblers Library, which will have the most updated version of the Operations Manual.  Consider, several documents within the manual have changed.  Most are minor changes.  Rather than list all here, we encourage all stores to download and print a new Operations Manual to ensure everyone has a complete and updated version.
